The cost of a solicitor can be very high as they usually charge anything from £240.00 per hour + VAT and they charge in increments of 15 minutes of time. Thus if you are on the telephone to your solicitor for five minutes you are charged for fifteen minutes of time etc.

A High Street solicitor will ask you to deposit a lump sum onto their client account before any work starts and their hourly fees are deducted from that sum that you have deposited. When that money runs out they will then ask you to top up the client account, if you don't then the work stops on your case!

What many people don't know is that you do not necessarily need a solicitor to work on your case. You can easily seek a Paralegal to do this work. Paralegals work in various different ways and we provide the same service as a High Street Solicitor. This can save you a huge amount of money; for example: our hourly rate is £100.00 per hour and we do not charge VAT. Before you even begin you can save money!
